About the College Registry

The Registry is responsible for all activities that ensure the smooth and effective administration of programmes offered by the College. It is headed by the Registrar, who has several other officers working closely with him to ensure the success of this unit.

All issues relating to admissions, course schedules, accommodation and general student affairs are handled by the Registry. It is the work-horse of the College.

Academic Programmes Offered
Degree Programmes  
The Management of the College, under the leadership of Dr. Tonnie Osa Iredia (OON), has recently concluded arrangements with the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria for the award of Degrees in professional areas of Television Production, Design, Broadcast Journalism and Engineering. The Degrees to be awarded include B.Sc. Mass Communication (TV Design), B.Sc. Mass Communication (TV Production), B.Sc. Mass Communication (TV Journalism), B.Eng. (Television).
   
Diploma Course  
The College runs a 2-year intensive academic and professional diploma programme in the core areas of Television Broadcasting, namely:- Engineering, Journalism, Production and Design. The diploma was conceived to increase and enhance the intellectual capacity of its graduands, in line with the highest academic standards and professional requirements available in both local and overseas institutions with similar training status.
   
Professional Short-Courses  
The College runs a number of short-courses, which cater for the training needs of all professionals within the industry. Generally, the courses are segmented into 3 levels - Basic, Intermediate and Advanced, while seminars and workshops are also organized to ensure that professionals are kept abreast of the changing trends in the Television industry.

Registration Procedures
How do I apply to the Television College?  

Application for admission into programmes at the Television College can be done directly by contacting the Academic Secretary at the Admissions Office.

Applicants for Diploma Courses should contact the College through the aforementioned officer, while applicants for Professional Short-Courses may Apply Online or contact the officer as well.

Applicants for Professional Short-Courses are strongly encouraged to apply online.

Further details relating to applicants for Degree Programmes will be made available soon. In the meantime, please contact the Academic Secretary, Mr. Zakari Yakubu with your enquiries.

 
Entry Requirements
What qualifications must I posses?  

The College requires applicants into any of it's Academic Programmes to posses the following minimum qualifications;

Five O' Level Credits (GCE, SSCE, WASCE, NECO or it's equivalent) at not more than two sittings, which must include Mathematics and English Language.

There are however departmental requirements, which must equally be fulfilled, please visit the Departments Home Page for further information.

Fees & Funding
How much does it cost?  

Fees payable at the College depend on the Academic Programmes you chose to undertake.

The Professional Short-Courses are presently rated on a basis of N7,500.00 per week, which means that a student registering for a 4-week professional short-course will pay the sum of N30,000.00. In addition, there is a registration fee of N3,500.00 and a N3,500 fee per week for transportation and accomodation.

All fees are payable on commencement of the respective academic programme. If however, you have stringent circumstances, which may hinder you from fulfilling this requirement, you are advised to present such circumstances for consideration to the Admissions Officer.
